In 1834 the architect James Burton (famous for his buildings around Regent's Park and in Bloomsbury) built and opened the St. Leonards Gardens in East Sussex. This, and the houses that surrounded it , formed the world's first purpose-built seaside resort. After extensive recent restoration, the beautiful Gardens re-opened after years of neglect. Plush Productions were on hand that day (21st June 2008) to record events as they unfolded.
